The Business Office Supervisor will oversee the business office workflow and provide direction and assistance in all business office department activities to include benefit verification, patient financial counseling, upfront collections, and data processing. Supervisor will manage, monitor and supervise all financial counselors in their daily duties and business office responsibilities. Supervisor will work closely with Business Office Market Director in conjunction with the Central Business Office to ensure the accuracy of data necessary in the billing and collections process.  Supervisor will follow policies and procedures to ensure accurate capturing and posting of financial activity to maintain accounts receivable at amounts appropriate for payer and acuity mix.

Position Details

  • Manage, monitor, and supervise all financial counselors in their daily duties and business office responsibilities.
  • May assist Market Director in recruitment and hiring of business office personnel.
  • May assist Market Director in performance improvement of the department and its employees.
  • Accurately records and reports census and admission information.
  • Serves as an additional point of contact regarding benefit determination within departmental timelines.
  • Performs upfront collections, financial counseling, and data processing.
  • Performs insurance benefit verification and financial counseling in a timely manner.
  • Ensures accurate records of financial transactions for the facility.
  • Assists the Financial Counselor to ensure payments are received by patients.
  • Displays fiscal responsibility.

Qualifications

Education: Associate degree or higher preferred or a combination of education and relevant work experience.

Experience: Previous experience in at psychiatric healthcare facility and previous supervisory experience preferred..

License: Valid driver’s license preferred; completed Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of hire and prior to patient contact.
